We have attempted to rebuild the lost Masterpoint records which, due to the previous policy ( pre - 2002 ), were deleted when a player died. The excellent research work done by Panos and the team on the WBF website has helped enormously in this. But if you know of any results that would affect a player's Masterpoints then please email me at mark@ecats.co.uk.
List of Players whose records have been rebuilt
All Time Open Ranking ( provisonal )
All Time Womens Ranking ( provisonal )
All Time Senior Ranking ( provisonal )
The rules for arriving at a player's Master point total are listed below although for the sake of an all time ranking then Placing Points are used and these stay with the players record forwever and are not reduced in the same was as Masterpoints are.
If a player has won a World Championship they will become a WLM at least.
Scenario 1:
Player dies before 1992 -
Their master points are not reduced by 15% at all
Scenario 2:
Player dies after 1992 - The total of the points earned before 1992 are only reduced from 1992 to the year the player died.
Scenario 3:
Player dies before 2002 -
They can lose their WM title if their total master points from 1992 reduce to less than 150
